Imposible. No one can make your country better then it is.
I think it's impossible because it depends only on people, but russian people really don't want to live better. If you want to live better - just move to another country. I think, it's the only way.
first
-one have to deside what is the problem with our country? who or what is the one to blame? and how should one behave?
My onswers are
- Our country 's lost partly it's personality as a result of global work in this direction. You know Russia is historicaly very strong in its culture, traditions, morality and !!! its belife in FATHER. That is unpleasant for somebody who wants to destroy the world. That very "one" can't be a human because we (however cruel we could be) live in this world, our parents, children live in it. So that "one" is much more powerful. It is devil who destroys our world. The more servants it has, the stronger he is. Don't serve davil - live for God!
It's Democrasy and Rationality of ideas that help devil rule our minds! Think about it.

I would probably start with something simple yet powerful, like Thorazine...

There is one song - Life goes on. And it is really so. We can't change anything globally, but we can change our own life and make it better. And if everyone does it, than the life og the whole country will be better, because it consists of our lives. We are the citizens of our Motherland and immigration is not a solution - it is only a pitiful attempt to escape. I've never been a patriot. I can't say that if my life ruines I will not go to live in Germany. But I try to do my life better. I do not cross the street when I see red light, O don't through the garbage if there are no waste-bins. I try to be tolerant and polite. And this is my tiny contribution to the better life.

Even if someone moves to the other country he will stay the child of his motherland. It takes ages to be adopted, to get used to different style of life. And I believe it never could be achieved completely. The language he is thinking, the habits he have, the childhood impressions are basement of the human personality, his true identity. Besides you always will be a stranger for the local citizens. I am not saying it is bad to move. I think it is just difficult and it should worth it. It is a difficult exam of your own. Being adopted you have to change your mind in some way. Some of ex citizens change it too much. It is often happens they start to blame on their motherland and disrespect it. But if you ask me I think they just disrespect themselfs, because they are the part of their country and will stay the part of it forever.

Ppl should change.
Be open-minded.
Understand other nations.
Government should pay more attention to all this garbage on the screen and in newspapers.
Honestly, there are so many things to do, Im afraid I will have to stay abroad at least next 30 years because Russia and NSK particularly are not good for living at the moment.

Ppl are different. For some, living abroad is more comfortable than in their own country.
We cant choose where to be born, but we can choose where to live.
According to my experience, countrymates are usually turning their back on you if you have problems abroad.
If you dont wanna be a stranger in other country - forget that you have nationality, start treating ppl same as you treat your own family. They will not be strangers anymore.
All that stereotypes were incorporated in soviet ppl's minds to make them angry about western countries and preventing them from going abroad, escaping from slavery of soviet regime.
And you are still following them without realizing where do they come from originally.

This is very easy position: forget your nationality, prove their stereotypes about your country and blame it and you will deserve their pity - this is the choice of truly "independent" and "free" person.

What does it mean "to live better" ? Are you sure you can find that abroad ?
What does it mean "to live better" ? Are you sure you can find that abroad ?I am pretty sure, living abroad 2 years and not going back.
I dont wanna see again cold weather, unreasonable prices for everything, aggressive limited selfish people, huge crime, drug-addicts, corrupted police, underdeveloped infrastructure and negative atmosphere....
Place im living right now is not heaven. Has many problems too, but at least its safe, not expensive, ppl are nice and i can afford many things, maintain good interesting lifestyle, travel.
This is very easy position: forget your nationality, prove their stereotypes about your country and blame it and you will deserve their pity - this is the choice of truly "independent" and "free" person. It seems that you, like many russians, consider foreigners as your enemies. You never lived abroad and dont understand people.![]()
Unfortunately, some people are not able to UNDERSTAND and change. While abroad such people are mostly staying with their countrymates, so for them there is no difference.
If you are not able to learn, reconsider your values, study something new and let other cultures penetrate your own - well, then you'd better stay at home and never go anywhere....
As for me, living in monocultural society is extremely boring. Everything is russian and russian only...
Makes me sick...
According to my observations, people in russia can be divided into 3 categories:
1) people who dont like russia and move to another country
2) people who love russia and want to stay
3) people who dont like russia, but cant move for some reasons (scared, dont have enough money, too attached to their culture). They know - life in russia sucks, but cant oversome themselves.
Also, it is quite hard to move. Russia was isolated for almost a century and government made big effort to prevent people from leaving. High air-ticket prices, visa issues, different standards of education and work qualifications. Not mentioning massive anti-western, anti-foreign propaganda through strictly controlled media...
They won. You dont like other countries and foreigners. Your anger is just what they want.
They make money taxing your income, taxing vodka, which they want you to drink because it suppresses critical thinking and make you easy to manipulate...
It is impossible to notice all of this living in russia. Only living abroad gives you sober opinion on real horrible situation....
I truly hope that my countrymates will open their eyes and realize whats really happening....

Indeed, and you are one of them
You just can not understand that:
- it is normal to respect your country
- it is normal to respect your nationality
Above points quite common and respectful among most of the people from different countries. And what you are saying is opposite to it. Simple, yeah?

Some people like their country, some people dont.
Not every man like his nation and culture.
Normal, normal, normal....
Normal for you, not normal for me...
I can say many things about country, which, unfortunately, is my motherland.
I hate it and hope my family members will leave it as soon as possible like I did.

so why did you leave your motherland?
May I ask you a question ....How old were you when you left? If you don't like cold weather it says about your personal preferences not more. It's not a question of a country you are living in. "Unreasonable prices for everything" is not correct , ( could you give a couple of examples?) because there is a long list of reasonable ,and I would even call some "under-reasonable" prices for many things. Then , "aggressive limited selfish people" ....may be you were not lucky enough to be surrounded with different type of people? "Huge crime" - may be you were livinig in such a district ? Infrastructure is not developed , that's true , but that's a question of time ! And if you lived in a negative atmosphere that doesn't mean everybody lives in that! My family doesn't for example. YOu left but still spend some time on this forum as if you need confirmation you did that right . If you add "as for my experience" to all your words that would be more correct . YOu don't know what kind of life other people have.
The truth is that you were not happy in Russia. And who knows the reasons? But they are definetely NOT because "Russia was isolated for almost a century and government made big effort to prevent people from leaving. High air-ticket prices, visa issues, different standards of education and work qualifications. Not mentioning massive anti-western, anti-foreign propaganda through strictly controlled media..." YOu didn't like your life here because it turned to be breaking your inner peace somehow . But everybody knows that happiness is TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED . So , you didn't love anybody and nobody loved you most probably . And again that's not a question of a country . Could you comment on how you personally suffered from
- high ticket prices ? How many tiems you refused from travelling due to that? Russia is a huge country ! If you fly from NY to India , prices also will be high just because of the distance .
- HOw many times you refused from meeting with friends due to visa issues?
-how many times your education and work qualification were rejected?
- how you personally suffered because " THEY taxing your income, taxing vodka"? By the way , the place you live in doesn't have taxes? Doesn't have restrictions for import? doesn't have propaganda "Russia is an enemy"? All you say about exist but all depends on your inner power! I love visiting other countries and I love foreigners! But I am also trying to make my country better bringing best achievements of the world back home ! I don't remember who said but that was somebody really great: don't ask what country did for you , ask what you did for your country!

"Unreasonable prices for everything" is not correct , ( could you give a couple of examples?) because there is a long list of reasonable ,and I would even call some "under-reasonable" prices for many things.
Taxi fare. Consumer goods. Electronics. Clubs.
How much is long island ice tea in NSK bars?
Life in russia is unreasonably expensive because there is no price control, high inflation rate and ppl think like this: get as much profit as possible by any means. They buy trousers in China for 200 rub and sell it in NSK for 5000 rub. Real example.
Then , "aggressive limited selfish people" ....may be you were not lucky enough to be surrounded with different type of people?
Leninsky rayon. Drug-addicts, attacking children at 9 PM to get cash for heroine.
"Huge crime" - may be you were livinig in such a district ?
District? And how about criminal mentality. You dont really see the whole picture. Stealing and cheating is in russian blood now, thx to prisoner camps during USSR. Prison language and behaviour.
Last time I lost my wallet in a club. Came back next day to pick it up - nothing was missing. Will it happen in russia?
Infrastructure is not developed , that's true , but that's a question of time !
Especially after Gorodetsky refused Caterpillar deal)))
They build 1 subway station in 4 years while in my place they build 4 lines in 2 years)
And if you lived in a negative atmosphere that doesn't mean everybody lives in that!
Russia is negative atmosphere!
YOu left but still spend some time on this forum as if you need confirmation you did that right .
Even living in paradise will be boring after some time. Looking at NSK and remembering my life there I am realizing how happy I am now and not getting bored.

-So , you didn't love anybody and nobody loved you most probably .
Russian love is very very unusual. They love inside but wearing so many fake masks.

Flight NSK-Beijing - 3 hours, TU-154, [censored] food and fat attendants, 1200USD with return
Flight Beijing-Paris - 8 hours, Boeing 767, nice food, booze, sexy young attendants, 500USD with return
Got the idea?
- HOw many times you refused from meeting with friends due to visa issues?
How many documents and approvals you need to collect to get EUR visa? Agent can do it for you, but how much do you have to pay?
Agent gets 8000rub for 1 month chinese tourist visa, while consulate fee is only 50USD
-how many times your education and work qualification were rejected?
Try to get a job abroad. Not waiter or cleaner. I am working right now in german company, but it cost me a lot of efforts to get there. Russian way of doing work is "original", so multinationals simply dont need it.
- how you personally suffered because " THEY taxing your income, taxing vodka"? By the way , the place you live in doesn't have taxes? Doesn't have restrictions for import?
China. Cheap booze. Any import products from all over the world.
-doesn't have propaganda "Russia is an enemy"?
Many countries dont have anti-russian propaganda. Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, China. Lots. World is not only US and Europe.
-But I am also trying to make my country better bringing best achievements of the world back home !
Good luck to you! People never lived good in Russia since Kievskaya Rus, but Im sure you are gonna make it!

Furthermore, these are the quotes from newly opened club in NSK:
50g vodka – 150-170rub
50g whiskey – 210 – 1450rub
50g tequila – 250-450rub
Juice – 120
Fresh made – 250-300
Coke – 100-150
Crazy!
In my city only high-class clubs have such prices.
Good places are much cheaper.
In fact, tickets for best djs - Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, A&B, ATB, Marcus Shultz etc. always around 200rub.
Also, very important, people are very friendly and chilled. You get a beer and in 10 min you already talking to some ppl, having good time.
People go to the club not to fight, get deadly drunk.
People go out to relax, make some new friends and rest from work.
Only when I got out from NSK, I realized how cool clubbin can be.
Sorry, but club life in NSK sucks mainly because of people. Its a fact.
All these home-grown local djs dont know anything about real music, never been to real parties like GlobalGathering, Armin Only.
NSK is far away from any civilized place, thats why it can be called village culturally.
All my friends were surprised when they saw night life here and nobody wanted to come back.

Taxes? You mean that is what you did for your country? YOu were 21 leaving , you just could not earn anything and give it to anybody . By the way , taxes are the money which are spent for the light you use, the roads, the schools so on . So you may expect to get only what you give . I wonder how much money exactly did you pay as taxes in Russia? Now compare it with your wishes and you will see , how many rights you have to demand something .

Oh , they were not Russian
Taxi fare - 150 rubles is expensive? You didn't use taxi in Italy then .
Ice tea in a bar .... I would never buy it in a bar ... But I understand that in a bar you pay for the service not for the tea !
Electronics ... How can you know all that if you just couldn't afford it in Russia , but thousand of people can . I don't see how 100 dollars per a tv set can be expensive.

YOu have never travelled to China from Novosibirsk.Hey you, specialist! I live in China.

I assume you are a scientist or programmer if they offered smth to you.
It means that Russia gave you education but you worked in another country.
Means that you can be considered as a traitor in words of usual NSK people)) wuahahaha
Regarding vodka, I am not suffering because I dont drink vodka.
People suffer because russian culture of drinking is used both by government and alcohol producers.
Open your eyes, specialist.
How to make Russia better?
Most important: stop thinking that everything is OK.
Its not. And as long as people think that everything is great - nothing will change.
Stop watching TV and read newspapers.
Stop believing media and government.
Stop drinking vodka and beer, because they want you to.
Treat surrounding people with heart.
Read international media, communicate with different people, travel.
Slowly Russia will become a great country, if....
if people will realize what is really happening.

Very simple, VAT (Value Added Tax)I imagine your annual spending power has been tremendous, since you consider paying VAT a valuable contribution to society? Yachts, football teams and such? Also, you forgot to mention the excise tax, which those greedy Russians also add to the overall cost of imported goods. This is an important one, merit-wise...Russia doesnt have developed industry. Which means a lot of things are coming from abroad.
Import taxes, certification, transportation, reseller's income tax, his extremely high profit - that's what consumers pay!
Almost everything is made in China. And chinese retailers and not crazy. They have profit but they never set stupid prices. Loyal customers - that what benefit the most.
One more thing.
I dont owe anything to Russia, because my parents were paying for kindergarden, school, medical assistance, university. Only my parents are to be taken care of in my case.
This country wasted my parents' lifetime with stupid socialist ideas and propaganda. They were getting low salary, work sometimes for free, they contributed and what did they get?
We have only one life and that horrible country is not a place to spend our precious time.
Hope my parents will get out from there soon and after this Russia can just disappear from the face of the Planet.

I am truly envious of the clarity of your outlook.
Couple of points, though.
First, if you are sure that you don't owe anything to Russia, why did you bring up the VAT and other state-charged taxes that you were supposedly subsidizing the horrible country with?
Second, what are the roots of your conviction that your parents, should they have been so lucky to be born outside Russia, would have ended up with high wages? Just out of curiosity?

And Im saying that my parents paid for everything since I went to kindergarden.
Second, what are the roots of your conviction that your parents, should they have been so lucky to be born outside Russia, would have ended up with high wages? Just out of curiosity?Lots of people in the world live good. Have many things, travel.
Do you know how many european, australian students are travelling right now?
They are not in a hurry to finish study at 22. They take a break, go to other country, study there, go to another one.
They live interesting life and explore, while russians are just putting lots of knowledge in their heads, marry at 23-24 and then work, becoming alcoholics...
Thats not life.
Look at retired people. How they are living and what are they doing. Not seeing something interesting and nice. Just die slowly surrounded by that gloomy society and crisis.
People who gave their lives for this country now are getting nothing.
Good example how you guys can benefit from serving our GREAT country.
I am truly envious of the clarity of your outlook.Only getting out from Russia gives you clear understanding what is happening there.
Thats why I am asking people to stop watching TV and read newspapers. Now we have internet and we can choose what information to consume, read multiple sources to get more or less truthful ideas.
Only getting out from Russia gives you clear understanding what is happening there.See, the thing is that I've been living between Canada and the U.S. of A. for about 9 years now.
This is exactly why I am asking how come you are so damn sure that your parents would have been better off at the other side of the iron curtain. I see a lot of people who are well off, financially and otherwise. On the other hand, I know a lot of people working full-time who cannot afford paying for even adequate medical care, not to mention overseas trips. And the people here also believe in rather strange things, albeit different ones compared with those inspired by the Communist Party.
Bottom line: your black/white attitude towards the world is likely to be a byproduct of your age, judging by some of the statements. Although I am not likely to return to Russia, I never considered it a horrible country and a living hell, as you seem to. The world is infinitely more complex than that.
Regards to Chairman Mao's tomb.
YOu live in China? I don't know where you bought ticket then.
I am neither programmer nor scientist
My country gave me education , and I live in Novosibirsk .
I don't drink vodka at all .Neither do all my friends . Neither do my parents .Open YOUR eyes and admit that there are happy people in Russia surrounded by the same happy people . Just you are not one of them .

Do you KNow how many Russian students and young people are travelling right now?
"Do you know how many european, australian students are travelling right now?"Not as many. Mostly children of rich parents.
Do you KNow how many Russian students and young people are travelling right now?
And you think Australian and European young people that are traveling are not children of middle to upper-middle class parents? Do you know how many people in the affluent west are below the poverty line? Do you know how much university tuition costs? Seriously, man, open your eyes to the world around you.

About education: Germany has free education.
World? Name the country. What do you know about world?
I live abroad, man and my eyes are pretty opened.
Why do you think that your experiences as an immigrant in China are somehow more valid than the experiences of other people here? I don't live in Russia either, haven't for a while now. And yet I don't yell and scream that I know better than everybody else.
Name a country? What do you mean by that, name a country alphabetically or by geographical proximity to Russia? Here you go, Cambodia.

If you didn't belong to a middle class that doesn't mean the class is fiction .
Russia also provides free education , the question is the quality , so is in other countries! My friend lives in Germany . She is studying accounting , but she is a teacher of English and hates what she is learning at the moment. When I ask her why is she doing that she says: this is the only I could get FREE. If you need such FREE education you may do that in Russia either!
Why do you think you know more about the world then me? I travel three times a year , every year , how many times a year do you travel? What kind of people do you communicate with when you do?

Developing and underdeveloped countries are not in my list and I am sorry about that)))

Chinese ppl suck but there are thousands of foreigners here so you can understand lots of cultures.
I have REAL friends from Indonesia, UK, Australia, Germany, US, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico and even country named Tonga!
But not a single one from Russia, because of constant betrayal and indifference.
SO when I say that I know other people I mean it.
You will never understand REAL situation just travelling. To see people inside you need to live with them, share and help each other.
P.S.: how is the crisis? Like it? Will be even worse, just wait. Your police government will fail.
1. What do you mean by REAL friends?
2. You couldn't get on well with Russians here , no matter you don't there .
3. Saying "travelling" I don't mean tourism . I have business partners abroad and I also 've lived in families being a member of education prog-s.
4. YOu are saying a silly thing by "I have REAL friends from Indonesia, UK, Australia, Germany, US, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico and even country named Tonga!
" as if it's only possible to have such friends living in China . I live in Russia and I also have good friends in Britain , Germany, Japan, Italy and USA.
5. Your words: developing countries are not in your list , but the list of your friends is something oposite .
6."Chinese ppl suck but there are thousands of foreigners here so you can understand lots of cultures. " Oh , Chinese ppl are also in the list of those who suck ! Why do you live among them? In Russia there are alsoa lot of foreigners SO YOU might UNDERSTAND OTHER CULTURES here.
7. what about crisis? As if it was born in Russia and by Russia ! By the way I don't feel it at all.
You always ignore the questions with specifics , but speaking about everybody is speaking about nobody. How old are you now? What exactly you do for living? What education do you have? What is your family now? As you sound to be under-educated , under-loved , offended , not able to realize your ambitions , aggressive , so not very happy. I say again , YOU SOUND TO BE, not exactly you are . But the language you use is not the language of a happy person .
